CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test. This is the first stage of Civil Services Examination. It is an Objective type examination consisting of Two Papers that is common to all candidates from 2011 having special emphasis on testing their “aptitude for civil services” as well as on “ethical and moral dimension of decision making”. all candidates for CSAT are advised to concentrate more on General Studies of Preliminary examination with special focus on Current Affairs/Events, Science and Technology, Economy and sports of National and International importance that has a bearing on public life in India.
CSAT will select candidates who can appear for Civil Services (Mains) Exam. The candidates who can successfully pass the Civil Services (Mains) Exam and the subsequent Interview, will be appointed for the prestigious IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service) and numerous other services.
